Input Lag while trying to play Superliminal on Macbook pro (mid 2014)

I've been trying to play superliminal on my macbook pro (mid 2014). As soon as I open the game the "in-game" mouse starts lagging as do other commands. If I press the arrow keys to switch between different menu options, it takes over a second for it to work. As soon as my mouse leaves the game window it works like normal, but lags again if I return to it. I'm afraid it might be the hardware? I have 8GB of RAM, a 2,6 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, and an Intel Iris 1536 MB graphic card. Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated!

We’ll be happy to look into what’s going on when trying to play Superliminal. You mentioned this is the only time you see the slowdown is helpful. Have you checked to make sure the game requirements are being met by the MacBook Pro?

Have you seen If graphics tasks slow down your Mac?

Yes, the requirements are met. It needs at least 4GB of RAM, i3 processor and os x version 10.10 and up. I have 8GB of RAM, a i5 processor and os x version 10.14. (Mojave). Thats why I'm a little confused.

To answer your second question, I looked into it and I'm afraid I have only one graphic card so my macbook can't switch between graphics.
