ipod not playing music
itunes doesn't see it on my laptop when it's in the dock
when I attempt PLAY or MENU it makes a clicking sound
and I get message: www.apple.com/support/ipod
It seems to be charging.
Any suggestions?

As noted the hard drive has probably failed. See If you see a red X icon on your iPod classic or iPod nano (5th generation or earlier) - Apple Support (archived copy). You might consider an SD conversion kit to replace the failed drive.

I think that most probably the Hard Drive is dead, is anything in the screen of the iPod?
I'll second that opinion. Dead drive it is.

an icon with the message directing me to that address displays on the screen
it also makes a grinding noise sometimes when I push on the center
other than that it makes a steady clicking sound
