Settings for iPhone11 in FCPX?
Hello, I'm new to making YouTube videos on my iPhone11 and editing in FCPX. Is there any recommendations for import and export settings? Everything was shot 1080p. Thank you so much!

Last week I shot a small event with and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I set the camera to shoot 1920 x 1080 @ 30 fps.
This is not what the camera actually shoots in it's default Apple mode.
The specs are 29.97 at a slightly variable frame rate, very close to 29.97 but not Constant.
the audio is 44.1 kHz.
My FCP Timeline used the drag a clip to the blank Timeline and let FCP do the setup.
These default settings worked OK and the result was pleasing for most viewers, however, I certainly noticed small glitches in video and audio. Nothing that was a deal breaker, it was quick and easy.
My thoughts are, if the work justifies the extra time to convert then do it.
Consider converting the iPhone footage to ProRes 422 @ 48kHz for better results.

Edit in a 1080p project and export that using the YouTube preset.
If you export ProRes you may as well upload that and have YouTube do the compression.
An app like Filmic Pro would be my choice if I have to shoot with an iPhone.
I have that app but do not have enough hands on experience with it at the minute to give meaningful comments.
It does look like the next best thing to a dedicated video camera.
All up, the iPhone 11 cameras are impressive for a phone. 👍

Thanks for the reply! Per the quality, do you think it will make a difference to export Apple ProRes 422, then use compression to export back to 1080p?
I think optimizing the clips might be sufficient. It might not even be necessary to optimize all of them, just problem clips. Though doing them all may be simpler.
