I have a air and want to input a interface for recording (Focusrite 212 ) but my Mac Air hasn’t got a HDMI input . Will usb -c adaptor work ?

I have a Mac air and I want to plug-in an interface , a focusrite 2.2 interface and my Mac air only has the same port as the focusrite input, there isn’t a HDMI on my Air . Can a C - adapter interface this, so I can record music?

Assuming you have a Focusrite USB interface like the Scarlett 2i2, that outputs audio over USB-C and your Mac has a USB-C input. You don't need an adapter, you don't need anything HDMI, you just need a USB-C cable (not the charge cable that came with your Mac, that's for power only), and connect the device to your Mac. No drivers are needed.
