What adaptor do I need to connect an HDMI cable to my Mac Air? I'm not sure the ports will connect. A USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adaptor is a possibility. I just don't want to buy an adaptor, then have it not work afterward.

you do need an USB-C to HDMI adapter. i would guess that most of those would work regardless of who the manufacturer is. but, a candidate that i can confirm is compatible with macs is a Tripp-Lite USB-C to HDMI
