How to factory reset my old iPnone 6Max without damaging the content and cloud content of my iPnone X

How to reset my old iPnone 6Max without damaging the content and cloud content of my iPnone X, which I currently use.

I would like to sell my iPhone 6Plus, but I can't erase its content, as I'm afraid, that action could damage the iCloud content, my iPhone X currently uses.

When I try to erase all the content of the iPhone 6Plus, it requires an ID identification. If I enter my Apple ID, will that erasure damage the iCloud settings and information, my new iPone X uses?

Generally, how could I safely reset my iPhone 6Plus?

Thank you.
