audio delay with HomePod mini

I have the HomePod minis connected to my 2019 iMac 5K, where im having syncing issues when editing in Final Cut Pro X, there's a good 3 second delay and when the audio does decide to kick in it doesn't sync up what what's on the screen, so far I only have this issue when using FCPX, using them for anything else has been absolutely fine.

2-3 second delay in audio with HomePod Mini Hello, I am got the HomePod mini hopign to use it for Zoom audio. Using MacBook Pro 13in M1 2020. Big Sur 11.5.2 I have read other threads where there is a 2-3 second delay and this is my case too. Even starting/pauzing Apple music there is a delay and using the HomePod mini as an audio output for Zoom is unusable since you can see the person speaking but the sound doesnt come through immediately like my JBL Flip 4 bluetooth speakers. Any suggestions? I wanna keep the HomePod Mini but this issue needs to be resolved in either the OS All have the latest software, been restarted, refreshed and re-everything. Still no success. :( Please help.

Does Homepod Mini work on only on an iMac ONLY through Music? If I select it from the menu bar (speaker icon), it may or may not work and no amount of tapping the pod or unselect/select will help (in fact, I’ve concluded that tap area is just a display for colored light). So far, it seems I’ve been able to actually get any sound out that mesh globe, if I ... First, go into the Music app. Second, select the Homepod mini via the Airplay icon. Third, go to the song, podcast or audio on the browser and click the start arrow. Then hope it doesn’t snap back to the internal speaker or just not work. I’ve already resigned myself to the fact that there is a one- or two-second delay from the time audio starts and the time I can hear it out of the speaker. Thanks in advance for any advice or enlightment about using this object.

HomePods aren't suitable for live audio editing work. The lag with a keyboard through GarageBand or Logic is appalling.
