macOS Big Sur AirPrint support for Samsung CLX-3300 broken(?)

After a fresh install of macOS Big Sur on my Macbook Air (from 2013) my Samsung CLX-3300 printer is detected and configured automatically as AirPrint printer. However, printing a test page leads to many nearly blank pages with a few cryptic symbols (which reminds of raw PCL5).

I know that Samsung (HP) does not provide drivers for macOS 10.15 but I thought that AirPrint printers were supported out-of-the-box Informationen zu AirPrint - Apple Support. The printer works fine with my iPhones and iPads connected as AirPrint printers.

Any help is appreciated.

Hello,

According to the user's guide (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05785035#G11.5424415) about AirPrint:

•CLX-330xW, CLX-330xFN, CLX-330xFW series only.

•Only AirPrint certified machines can use the Airprint feature. Check the box your machine came in for the AirPrint certified mark.

Do you have an exact/complete model, including a suffix?

The fact that the printer is detected and configured properly, and works with iPhones and iPads, indicates that it actually is an AirPrint printer.

Have you tried to reset the printing system?

I assume that the printer is connected to a Wi-Fi router (the same network as for the iPhones and iPads), either wirelessly or through an Ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports, and that a USB cable is not connected to the printer .
