iOS 14.3 missing amber alerts and emergency notifications.

They’re missing. Amber alerts and other emergency notifications are gone. The option isn’t there. They just disappeared. Were they moved a different location and not under notifications any longer?

why would this deliberately be removed?

Yet it happened to my phone within 48hrs. So what was debunked? The options to turn it on or off was on my phone Friday. Yet today it’s missing. Are you able to explain what did that? Did someone hack my phone? Hmmm? If you can explain how someone could remove those options from my phone without being able to touch my phone?

Start by contact your carrier.

I'm not going to explain anything to you. Chances are you're nothing but a troll sent here to propagate the lie that it was being removed to begin with.

Do some basic troubleshooting on your own. Reboot your phone.

Reset the network settings.

Restore ios

If none of those work, and you still actually have an issue, make an appointment at the Genius Bar... of course, this is all assuming you actually contacted your cellular carrier first and made sure it's nota problem on their end.

Also note from CRTC regarding emergency alerts:

Can I choose which way an emergency alert is sent to me?

No. Regulations mandated by the CRTC require all commercial, campus, community and Indigenous radio and television broadcasters, cable, satellite and IPTV providers, as well as wireless service providers to distribute emergency alerts.

There is no sign-up or opt-in required. Emergency alerts will be automatically sent through these broadcast channels, and to compatible wireless devices.

You cannot opt out of receiving threat-to-life emergency alerts. This is for your safety.

Which answers the question; since you aren't allowed to disable them there's no point in showing the sliders that would allow you to do so.

Indeed, third party site "iPhone in Canada" has a page devoted to this:

CRTC spokeswoman Patricia Valladao, told the Canadian Press “People cannot opt out of this,” adding, “There is a high importance that people — want it or not — receive these alerts.”

https://www.iphoneincanada.ca/carriers/emergency-cellphone-alerts-april-6-no-opt-out/

The CRTC states:

In Canada, all wireless service providers must participate in the National Public Alerting System. However, the CRTC does not regulate the companies that make mobile devices.

as well as:

Devices that are purchased outside of Canada or directly from the manufacturer may not meet Canadian alerting standards and guidelines.

So it's possible that an SE purchased in the US might show the sliders where a new phone purchased in Canada would not.

If you don’t want to follow the thread click the Following button at the top of this page. If you have posted more than once you may have to refresh the page, then click Following again, repeating until it no longer changes back to Following. (Yes, it’s an annoying forum bug. Have some sympathy for me when I have posted dozens of times in the same thread).

I recently updated my iPhone 7+ with iOS 10.3.2 to 14.3.

The first time I went to “notifications” settings, the government alert items normally found at the bottom of the list were missing.

I turned the phone off (upper right button then “slide to power off.” After about 30 seconds I turned the phone back on and went again to “notifications.” The three government alerts buttons are now there.

Try this first.

All iPhones support government alerts in countries where they are offered. In some countries you can choose to disable them (like the US). In other countries you cannot disable them (like Canada). If your phone is provisioned by a carrier in a country that does not permit you to disable them you won’t see switches to turn them off, but your phone will still receive and display the alerts.

I know they happened because that came across atv in the break area and an emergency radio in an office area, however I am usually outside working and am not conveniently available to either. Yes I checked my settings and they are all on. I turned them off and back on hoping this would reset them but I won’t know until there is another alert and I actually am somewhere I can hear it.
