Apple TV 4K won’t provide audio to 2 pairs of AirPods Pro

My girlfriend has Apple TV 4K. We would both like to use our individual pairs of AirPods Pro to listen to programming since we each have different levels of hearing loss. However, after pairing both sets, it’s not letting audio go to both pairs. If I am listening by myself, I can hear fine; if she attempts to join while I’m listening, my audio goes silent and she can hear. If she is listening first and I connect mine, her’s goes silent. Either of us can control the volume by our iPhones, but only the one receiving audio is impacted by volume changes.

The Apple TV 4K has the latest firmware, as does both our iPhones.
