I now have about 15 deleted Outlook emails which keep trying to come in every hour on the hour. How do I get rid of them and get this annoying function to stop? I’ve never seen any of my past iPhones do this before but I just bought my iPhone 11 about 3 months ago.

We understand that you are having an issue with deleted emails loading back into the inbox. It's important to have the deleted emails not showing in the inbox. I'll be happy to help with this.
Force close the Mail app and then go to Settings > Accounts & Passwords > Your email account > Your email account again > Advanced. Check the Deleted Mailbox behavior as well as the Move Discarded Messages into. Then restart the iPhone and open the Mail app and delete an email and then test to see if it comes back.

I wanted to respond to Eric~F re deleted emails that keep trying to come back into my Outlook on the hour every hour. Every day that goes by, the number of incoming/deleted emails increases.
I tried Eric’s instructions. I found my iPhone 11 saying “Move Discarded Messages to:”
Then below that was the checked Deleted Mailbox already done (as Eric instructed) so I don’t know where to go from here.
Deleted emails are stacked up (12 of them) and keep trying to come in but they don’t come in. Phone constantly dinging when they try to come in. They have been permanently deleted. Previous suggestion was already chosen on my iPhone 8.
