Have subscribed to iTunes Match for many years, but recently joined Apple Music, so I am thinking of cancelling iTunes Match
My record library consists of items purchased from Apple, items purchased elsewhere, my CDs which I’ve burnt, and items from my Apple Music subscription
Is there any advantage in having both?
Will anything happen to my library, if I cancel iTunes Match? Will some albums disappear?

Hi,
You don’t need to keep iTunes Match as it features are included in Apple Music. You need to turn off auto renew. The change to Apple Music will be seamless as both services use the iCloud music library. As usual, keep a backup of your music on an external drive.

Hi again Jim. I’ve been reading that if you only subscribe to Apple Music, then DRM is added to all the music you have ripped or bought, and that if you subsequently cancel Apple Music, you won’t be able to play even your own stuff because of DRM. iTunes Match prevents this

No. DRM is not retroactively applied to your own content. Apple Music should provide the same benefits as iTunes Match, with additional access to nearly everything else in the iTunes music catalog while your subscription remains active. You should maintain a complete backup of your library in case matched content doesn't exactly match your original (e.g. clean vs. explicit) or you inadvertently remove something from the cloud and it is removed everywhere.
