Hi,
The PIXMA MP240 is an older printer. The support pages of Canon USA and Canon Europe both indicate that OS X 10.9 Mavericks is the latest supported operating system. This does not automatically mean that the printer cannot be used under newer system versions, so you may want to try the drivers offered anyway. Do not expect such an attempt to be successful, though. It may not even be possible to install the drivers.
If nothing else works, you could possibly carry out tests with Gutenprint drivers (there are two experimental MP240 files mentioned in http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net/p_Supported_Printers.php).

Before each attempt to use a new driver, it may be necessary to reset the printing system.

If Apple has one, do System Preferences > Software Update and look for additional downloads:
If nothing is there you will need for contact the printer makers.
... and if Apple does not have one yet, you will need to contact your Pixma printer support site to see if they offer updated drivers.
