Storage Full - Filming Videos iPhone 11

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help me. I have an iPhone 11 which I use to film my YouTube videos. When I am filming I get the dreaded message 'storage full'. I have upgraded to the £6.99 a month iCloud but was told iCloud and phone storage are different so will not help me. (Yay to wasting money haha).

Basically I need to know if there's a way to film a video live on my iPhone and for it to save automatically in the cloud or a USB compatible stick INSTEAD of my phone storage (so I don't get the message interrupting my recording). I have 64GB storage in total and used 51.7GB. I thought this would be more than enough - my phone is going to be a year old at the end of the month so don't really want to buy a new phone just for storage.

Please can someone suggest something to help :( I just wanna use my iPhone camera as it's such good quality.

Thanking you in advance! Natasha

Hi there Natasha,

We understand you're trying to record videos on your iPhone 11 without worrying about storage, and we'd like to share some resources that may help.

While there isn't a way to record directly to an external drive or iCloud, check out how to clear storage on your iPhone here: How to check the storage on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

You can also use the steps here to optimize your iPhone storage: Set up and use iCloud Photos

We hope this helps.
