Trade in working MBP with dead battery

Hello

I'm in the UK and have a MacBook Pro I'd like to trade in.

The machine is spotless, in perfect condition overall but during a period of storage the battery gave up and now it won't charge (and yes, I've taken all the appropriate steps around SMC etc). It runs normally in every respect as long as it remains connected to the power.

My question: will the device still be accepted for trade in? The trade in flow asks "Does it turn on and does the operating system load properly?" which is a yes, but I'd like to know how this is interpreted in practice.

Thanks

MacBook Pro

Unfortunately, w are end users like you, so are neither Apple employees nor employees of the company with whom Apple contracts for handling trade-ins. I would start with the FAQs on this Apple page and call support if that does not help.
