I noticed that while sleeping my wife was able to open my iPhone 11 (it was 8 number passcode) and stole my data. Is there anyway that I could switch off my face ID only during night so that she can use my face while I am sleeping?

I noticed that while sleeping my wife was able to open my iPhone 11 (it was 8 number passcode) and stole my data. I am not sure whether she just cracked the numbers or used face id feature so I disabled the face id feature and changed the 8 number password to a alpha-numeric and longer passcode which is more complicated to guess for her, I presume.

However, its more inconvenient for me as I have to use this long passcode everytime I am trying to use the phone.

Is there anyway that I could switch off my face ID only during night so that she can not use my face while I am sleeping and has to struggle to crack my passcode? I want to keep face id on though during day time when I am awake.

There is also not an issue with iPhone, I never said that, you are over reading it.

What I asked here is a technical question - and read it again rather than reading between the lines:

Is there a way to temporarily disable Face ID feature during night or a particular phase of time (without doing it manually) so
that anyone trying to open my phone (even me) has to put the passcode?

Hope you got the question this time - do not try to over read it. Just stick to technical question not in psycho-social aspect of it.

No, there isn't one otherwise you would've seen an auto/schedule feature in the faceid/passcode settings.

Razmee209,

I don't have a phone with that capability, but somewhere in my wanderings I got the impression that on the Face ID function, there was an option that you can select which would require you to actually look at the phone for it to unlock. I got the impression that this was a selectable setting. Is this no longer the case and there is no option for this now?

If the option is still there, the OP may just need to turn it on.

no there isn't

I just did a quick test - had my eyes closed with my phone in front of me, swipe up from bottom - then move phone to an angle and it did not unlock - so your eyes would need to be open in order for her to get into your phone.

And if she is "stealing your data" as you say, then the issue isn't your face id or passcode, but your marriage.

Of course my marriage is an issue, but I am not asking for solution of my marriage here. I know for that there are other forums.
