This is becoming an issue as I teach fitness classes because my music is being turned down in the middle of a group fitness class. Can someone please help

I purchased an iPod generation seven only for my music and my music apps. The problem I am running into is that it is turning itself down in the middle of teaching group fitness classes. All I can see is that I cannot fix this? Can someone please help me because yesterday it happened twice in one class. I am plugging into the USB jack. Would doing Bluetooth avoid this altogether? Meaning playing music through Bluetooth versus plugging in.

So Apple keep removing or editing my posts here claiming it contains advertising. I guess they don’t want people to know their measurements are not accurate and how you can work around their intrusions.

So I’ll try to use no links and go under the radar.

If you want to work around this search the web for “The Occasional Tech Blog nadnosliw” and you’ll find a blog with a post detailing how to use a Shortcut as a work around. The blog owner gets no income from people visiting the posts. So don’t cry Apple and Apple fans.

As far as I know there is nothing you can do about this. It is a bad implementation od a feature designed to protect your hearing as it assumes you are using headphones, not an external speaker. See: Headphone notifications on your iPhone, iPod touch, or Apple Watch - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211903

You can use a Shortcut to add audio exposure notifications with negative dB values. This offsets the values the Health app logs. I've been using one for a about a week now and no notifications yet!

I'm in the process of putting together a blog post detailing:

  1. The Health app's measurements are inaccurate
  2. This audio monitoring is a privacy intrusion with no opt out.
  3. How to defeat the notifications with a Shortcut.
