Mag Safe charging is not happening.

After a month of successful charging using the magsafe charger the iPhone 12 pro will not accept a charge from the mag safe charger. Lightning connector still charges, but mag sage is not charging. In face I thing actually is discharging the iPhone. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

Seems to be a software issue. Happened to me two days ago and can't figure it out. I simply restarted my iPhone 12 Pro and Magsafe started working again. Apple needs to acknowledge and fix this though as I've seen multiple people experiencing this on their 12's.

Quick update to everyone. I've tested iOS 14.5 for a few days now and the issue with Magsafe draining the battery apparently is still there and I still need to reboot the phone to make it work. The only way the Magsafe charger works if I use a lower Wattage power adapter like a 12W adapter or just plugging directly into my MacBook's USB-C port. I hope this issue gets recognised by Apple soon and have it fixed in the next coming updates.

Spent an hour and 20 minutes on the phone with three different people and they decided that there must be something wrong with the actual made safe part of the charger so their solution was they couldn’t give me a replacement over the phone but I need to go to the Apple Store 20 miles away stand outside in the rain and wait my turn till my appointment came up for a stupid $40 part who’s the idiot here

@darcytt9 it's most likely that your iMac's USB A port's power output is limited and cannot be used to charge via its port. There are tweaks to get around this although should be done at your own risk.

I also use a USB-C to a regular USB A adapter to plug my Magsafe into a 12W Apple adapter and it works just fine there. It doesn't show the Magsafe animation and most likely charges up to 7.5W wirelessly.

The MagSafe charger has a usb-c connector which is a problem as I do not have a usb-c charger, so purchased an adaptor usb male to usb-c female. Pluging it into my iMac it says mac does not support and power request is too high. So does that mean I have to purchase another part from apple to make it work and what guarantee is there that it will work if I buy an apple adaptor as I see lots of people are having problems with these chargers?
