Apple logo flash at startup

New iPhone 12 Pro. At startup the Apple logo flashes super bright for a brief second then the screen goes dark for about 10 seconds before the Apple Logo re appears at normal brightness to finish the startup. I’ve had iPhones for years and never had the logo turn on and then off during startup. Is that Normal for the 12?

Same issue! I bought my phone January 31 here at Singapore and after setting it up the following day I restarted my phone since Lazada app is not working then I noticed this flashing logo glitch. So I went down to Apple immediately and have the phone replaced. Then on that same day after setting up the replacement phone and when I tried to restart it the same issue happened. Not sure if I want to give it a try for a 3rd time now

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, which has had this issue since purchase two weeks ago. After the flash there is a delay for a few seconds and then the phone boots normally. I can live with this, and apparently from what I have been reading there is a fix coming in the next update. I am convinced this is a software issue and I will not be exchanging my phone. Aside from this minor issue, it is an excellent phone.

Mine initially started with my phone freezing up while playing a movie. When I rebooted the phone is when I noticed the flashing logo. And, although I may have bad aim when I try to hit buttons, some seem to be harder to select than others.

I did talk to a tech rep on the phone. He checked the hardware remotely and said it was ok. We made me an appointment at the Apple Store where they checked the hardware again and said it checked out fine.

The first tech rep suggested it was a software problem. The in store tech didn’t mention software.

Some people have indicated the next update will fix the problem. So I’m waiting for the next update.

Hello,

I received my new iPhone 12 Pro in late January and noticed the logo issue on boot up immediately. And it’s consistent.

I was hoping that updating the OS with the latest version in early February would resolve it. Unfortunately it’s still an issue. I’m not aware of any other issues.

Thanks for reporting this.

Update Feb 5: So I talked to an Apple Senior Advisor last night and told me to try restore factory setting my iPhone 12 Pro via itunes to download the new OS and see if the problem can get fixed. Result was, it did not fixed the issue. But notable experience was: BEFORE I need to press power button once and get the flashing apple logo then press the power button again and a steady apple logo appears and starts up the phone. NOW I only have to press power button once, flashing apple logo appears then after 5 to 10 seconds the steady apple logo comes out. I don't have to press power button twice. Apple called me back and said that their developers are well aware of the issue and hopefully the fix will be in the next update. So it is confirmed that this is a software issue and not a hardware issue. To anyone new to the thread, I got my iPhone 12 Pro 1/31 with 14.3 pre-installed, after setting up I got the flashing apple logo so I did an exchanged the following day. The new replacement after setting up had the same issue. I don't want to exchange for the 3rd time this time so I'm gonna stick to this one until hopefully they release a software update to fix the issue. All the best!

CarLey09, my experience is the same except I never had to press the power button twice. I bought my iPhone on 2/3. After setup, I ran the update to 14.4 (came with 14.3). After that, I just pushed the power on button once. I’d get the logo flash and about 5 seconds later, the normal logo displayed until the Lock Screen appeared. As I side note, I went to the Verizon store yesterday and requested a new phone. Request was denied, they said it was a software issue.

I’m on the phone with Apple now...

I have 2 issues... one is the start up flash and the more serious one is the phone storage under other eat up all my storage space leaving me only less than 1gb to operate.

very annoying with the constant uninstall of apps to free up space. Soon I may not even able to use the phone.

Apple disconnect the line. Hope they can call back soon 😱😭

Spoke to an Apple support person yesterday, courtesy of their executive escalation dept. Basically, if you turn on the phone, as soon as you see the Apple Logo flash, release the power button. In about 5-8 secs the regular apple logo will appear and the phone will boot normally.

This splash screen issue is something Apple is aware of and they indicated there is NO resolution for it at the moment.

I asked about 14.5, and Apple did not know if that would fix it. Like I stated earlier, it was said that 14.4 would fix this issue, but it did not. Hopefully, Apple will correct it in an update.
