Photos app on Mac keeps importing same photos every time I synce my iPhone to Mac

Currently, I am using the latest MAC OS(11.1) and also iOS(14.3) on my devices. When I try to import photos from my iPhone 12 to my MacBook Pro(2017 with touch bar), it imports all new photos as well as already imported ones previously. I have been looking for solutions for this issue on the net, but could not find any useful solutions so far.

What is the source of the duplicate photos? Have they been saved from WhatsApp or other social media? Or taken with the iPhone?

There are several possible reasons for already imported photos showing as new photos on import:

You cannot prevent already imported photos from showing as new photos, if you are using iCloud Photos on your iPhone. Do not import manually from the iPhone, if you are using iCloud Photos.
Photos will also be showing as new photos, if the format is converted to JPEG during the import. The HEIC files remaining on the iPhone will always be files you have not yet imported, because there are only JPEGs on your Mac. Do not change the file format during the import or delete the files from the iPhone that you have safely imported to the Mac or select only new photos for importing. (Using HEIF or HEVC media on Apple devices - Apple Support)
Several users reported that the WhatsApp downloads are currently always appearing as new photos. Delete the WhatsApp photos from the iPhone after Importing.

Unfortunately some photos are received from WhatsApp on the other hand there are some photos received via AirDrop from other devices. Also I am neither using iCloud photos and I'm not changing format of any photos during importing process.
