MacBook Air Touch ID isn't working

My brand new macbook air won't allow me to use fingerprint and is saying my password is incorrect. Help!

ventura touch-id is greyed out Since installing ventura on my mac (M1 imac, 2021) my touch-id is disabled, in settings all the toggle options are greyed out. I turned off file vault and reset, but that didnt work and added, then removed automatic log in and reset. Nothing. Anyone have similar problems and solutions?
