Yamaha MM6 Keyboard Not Connecting to GarageBand or MacBook Air via USB

Just got a MacBook Air this past Xmas 2020 and when attempting to connect my Yamaha MM6 Keyboard to control GarageBand via MIDI/USB, it will not recognize it. I have tried a couple different cables. I am going through a UNI USB C Hub since the new Macs don't have standard USB inserts anymore, so I need this converter. The Hub has 4 different ports and I have other devices connected that are being read just fine (a PreSonus AudioBox iTwo, my iPhone X...). I have never had a problem connecting this keyboard to LogicPro or Pro Tools in the past. I even downloaded what I believe is the most recent drivers from the Yamaha website. When I open my system preferences, I can see a Yamaha USB/MIDI icon but when I click it, it says, "Preferences Error. Could not load Yamaha USB-MIDI Control Panel preference pane." (SEE IMAGE BELOW).

PLEASE HELP!
