13" M1 Macbook Pro screen/backlight not turning on after wake

Hi! I have the sane issue! after 1 minute of standby i know its normal to auto sleep but if i click they keyboard after 10 minutes or more it wont wake up!? only keyboard has a light but the screen is still sleep. How are we going to resolve this?

It's dim, not off like you suggest. Yes, there's an obvious defect - a "defective unit" suggests a unique anomaly . This has been described as working otherwise by many people - so the first solution attempt should be via software update.

Same here with the MacBook Air M1.

Since I get logged in automatically with the watch or after touching the fingerprint sensor, my current workaround is to log out again (ctrl + cmd + q) and then esc. When I then press the power button shortly (with fingerprint scan), I'm in with the backlight working again.

Looking forward for a software patch.

Thanks for this post. I hadn't thought to shine a flashlight on it, but yep, it's the backlight. I haven't been able to get mine to work under any circumstance now, monitor connected or not.

I see it's still the same with 11.2 which I just upgraded to. Such a shame.

Yep, same problem for me as well on my M1 MacBook Pro, was hoping 11.2 would fix it but NOPE

Same exact issue. Been just using the close/reopen workaround.

I also facing the same issue. even after updated with 11.2.1.

Pressing the ESC key twice is working for me. let's hope it will get fixed with the coming updates. I have reported the bug as well.

11.2.2 has released. The bug is still there.
