Mac Mail Will Not Allow Me To Add Comcast Email

I have been able to added my Gmail or Yahoo and iCloud just fine but now that I'm trying to add account-Comcast email I continue to get an error message, "unable to verify account and password". Is there a solution to this problem?

I click on mail>preferences>plus sign & enter all the information. IMAP is the default so I am only entering my name, username and Comcast email address. What else is missing or needed so I can add this account to my Mac Mail? Thank you!

you should set up an email account through system preferences then the internet accounts pane. If verification fails there is usually the password. Once verified then go to Mail and its account and make sure server setting incoming mail server and uncheck automatically manage connection then enter 993 then select SAVE then check the box again. The outgoing mail server should be 587 then SAVE and check the box.

HI machado22,

Thanks for contacting the Apple Support Communities!

We understand that you're unable to add your Comcast email account to your Mac due to an error "Unable to verify account and password".

Are you able to sign into your Comcast account via a web browser?

Are you able to verify the account settings using the Mail Settings Lookup Tool?

We look forward to your reply.

Cheers!
