Which version of iTunes do I need to use to see and manage the playlist on my Ipod Classic. The latest versions of itunes don't show the playlists
If you're running El Capitan through High Sierra you need iTunes 12.8.2.3. iTunes is baked into Mojave. See Recover media from an iPod - Apple Community to pull the media off your classic into your Music library where you can play and edit as needed. Then sync the device with selected playlists using Finder. In my opinion that has always been the best approach. Relying on a device which might easily be lost, stolen damaged, or need to be restored, isn't ideal.
