iPhone 12 Pro leather case feels sticky

I wipe it down from time to time with a wet wipe. Seems to be helping with that stickiness. The aging of this leather is odd. Not sure how premium this leather really is. If I knew all I know now about this case...I probably would not have bought it. I do love the MagSafe and the buttons very much.

I have used wet wipes on it to help. It gets better over time. The ‘blackening/browning’ of the edges is normal for leather patina. The reason the back doesn’t patina as quickly is because it is flat and doesn’t get touched as much in pockets and such. Remember…the does patina. Look “leather patina” up on google to learn about it.

That’s why i switched back to the silicone case

yep, same here. this is my first leather case so i had no idea what to expect but it feels almost like the feeling of a sticky bathroom floor right after it gets cleaned and they let the soap dry on too long, if you know what i mean. i’ve only had it for a day and i love it except the slight stickiness feeling... maybe i’ll return it. It’s discouraging to hear the stickiness hasn’t gone away on others

I also bought the saddle brown leather case for iPhone 12 Pro Max and it came with a fingernail mark or scratch. I think I paid like $1200 for the phone and $60 for the case. Shouldn’t come with a scratch dug into the leather.

With the pandemic and all of the protests and riots in Portland the Apple Store has been closed so I haven’t been able to exchange or return it.

These leather cases do not hold up against alcohol wipes. They will rub the color off of the corners all the way around the case. Then it starts to darken to a black for some reason.

I will be taking mine back as soon as the store opens again.

I got the black one and it has the same horrible tacky feeling. It was fine when I opened it… for about an hour.

i’ve tried wiping it with a wet cloth using only water. No improvement. Very disappointing quality.

Yes. I have the same issue with my iPhone 11 Pro Max saddle brown leather case. Got it recently and I hope it goes away!

Had mine a couple weeks. Saddle brown on iPhone 12 Pro Max. Sides are feeling all sticky. I hate the feeling of it. No matter what I do, nothing helps.

Purchased mine within the week. Same model: saddle brown for iPhone 12 Pro Max. It’s awful. This tacky/sticky feeling is not what leather naturally does. The item should be recalled.

I have exactly the same - I have only had it 3 weeks - but I can't keep using it. Will see if Apple change it I think

Me too, unlike my 10s case, my 12promax leather case is getting stickier.

Did it eventually go away? I got a leather case today and at first it felt very slippery at least the one in the store i felt, then i got this one and it feels sticky. How’s it now?

Same. It must be a sealant they use.
