My iPhone 10 randomly mutes itself

It’s not volume, it’s not the switch, and it’s not an old version of iOS.

Its the hidden mute option in the assistive touch accessibility menu.

I don’t need assistive touch and I keep it disabled, but my iPhone randomly mutes via assistive touch anyway, and the only way to enable the alerts is to go into the accessibility menu, enable assistive touch functions I don’t otherwise use, and unmute.

how can I prevent accessibility options muting my phone for me?

The phone will go mite without any command from me whether or not assistive touch is enabled. I don’t use assistive touch, so I leave it off most of the time.

The volume dispel still goes up and down with buttons, and none of the normal modes will show that the phone is on do not disturb or mute.

But if I turn assistive touch on, and then go to the device menu under the white dot, it shows that the phone is muted and lets me unmute. So I unmute, and all is well for a few days.

Sometimes I turn assistive touch back off, sometimes I don’t. Either way the phone will mute itself again later at a random time.
