Why is the News application automatically placed on phone with notifications

Apple indicates that they use the best news feeds yet several times after reading the headlines and saying to myself how can that be true? Then after going to the source and/or performing my own research it turns up time and time again that the news being fed through this app is biased and partisan why it comes to political news. Apple, maybe there aren't good news sources out there anymore, so why automatically place this app and notifications on peoples phones.
