iPhone 11 deleting messages

Why is my phone deleting message thread but only from one person? It happened for the third time yesterday. There is no record of them in iCloud either he doesn’t even show in my top conversations.

I have message setting to keep messages forever and I have plenty of iCloud storage. It only happens with this one person?

just Don’t understand why it’s only one persons messages repeatedly deleted?
