Activation Lock - Apple Watch

my ex girlfriend was the previous owner of the watch and I have no way of contacting her. Is there any way of unlocking the activation lock on the apple watch? its still pretty much brand new since I bought it for her.

Activation Lock is a theft deterrent feature with no bypass or workaround.

Without the owner's authorisation (Apple ID & password), no thief or anyone including you can re-use the device.
