Loads of my album artwork has disappeared from iTunes. It seems like it is almost (but not entirely) artwork which iTunes had found by itself, as most can be re-downloaded by using Get Album Artwork.
Any idea how I can resolve this other than going through the albums one by one? If I select all my albums it basically locks up my laptop forever while it tries to find artwork for albums I already have.

It would seem your artwork database has been trashed for reasons unknown. Create a smart playlist with the rule Has artwork is false, select everything in this list and use the right-click > Get Album Artwork option. Do this before going to bed or going out and leave the computer to it.

Sorry, looks like they removed the context menu option for artwork at some point. After selecting the files in the playlist use File > Library > Get Album Artwork.

Hmm ,don't know if I am being daft, but there is no Get Album Artwork option in playlist view. Seems like it needs to be in Artist view to get that option?
I have a similar issue but what annoys me is the missing artwork is in my iTunes artwork folder but the radio button on the song file is grayed out so I can not add it back to the file.
