Can not set CONTROL + SHIFT as a hotkey

Hello,

Is there "Why?" I can not (not abled) to set CONTROL + SHIFT as hotkey for language switch on my Mac?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

Can't find a way to use shortcut other than caps lock to switch languages I have a MacBook Air with Monterey OS. It looks like the only way to switch between languages is to use the Caps Lock. When I had a different OS, I used to be able to use any shortcut I wanted to, but I can't seem to do that with this OS for some reason. I just hate using the Caps Lock to switch between languages and would like to use command+space instead (or anything other than the caps lock). When I go to Settings --> Keyboard --> keyboard or input sources, there is no "+" button for me to add or change additional shortcuts. Would appreciate any help! thank you!

Universal control can not switch language use 'Caps Lock' key I Have iMac and MacBook and both have enable use 'Caps Lock' key switch input language. When I using Universal control connect then, 'Caps Lock' key switch input language can not work.

Keyboard language switching I have two iMacs, one running OS X 10.13.6 and an older one running OS X 10.11.6. In the newer system I can switch quickly between keyboard language input sources (English & Devanagari) using the keyboard shortcut: Command + Space bar, which is much faster while typing than using the mouse to change keyboard input from the menubar. In OS X 10.11.6 this shortcut brings up Spotlight instead. Is there an alternative shortcut available for the older system or does anyone know if a keyboard switching shortcut can be created?

Apple itself just doesn't use such combinations of only modifier keys. But you may be able to do it with a 3rd party app.
