Deleting on Mac

Hey there! I accidentally dragged a folder from my safari bookmarks onto my home screen and I can't seem to get rid of it (off my homescreen)! It's just a folder filled with htmls, I don't see why I can't delete it! It's been "loading" forever, and it can't seem to stop :/ Is there a way to get this off my home screen and place it in the trash? Thanks!
