my MacBook Air keeps saying null error when I try to do the update for Big Sur

We have a few troubleshooting steps to try. First, let's remove any peripherals connected to your Mac.


Then attempt to install form a new user account. This article may help: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac


If the issue persists can you provide a few more details? How far along in the installation do you see this error message? Which macOS version do you currently have installed? Also, which model MacBook Air do you currently have?
