Apple TV remote accidental input

Really like my Apple TV and thought I liked the remote but it’s too sensitive and does not scroll well in YouTube tv. Constantly making accidental erroneous input picking up the remote. No way of quickly knowing it’s oriented correctly in my hand because of the symmetry and lack of buttons. I would prefer a simpler design without the touch pad.

You can change change Touch surface tracking

  1. Open Settings  on Apple TV.
  2. Go to Remotes and Devices > Touch Surface Tracking.
  3. Set Tracking to Fast to make smaller thumb movements move farther on the Apple TV screen. Set Tracking to Slow to reduce tracking sensitivity.

Provide Feedback to Apple:

Pain though it is, this is the intentional features of the remote, so there is no workaround. So, to fix this, provide Apple feedback of this, letting them know what features you think should be added to the device. Apple won't get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive from its users, the more they may consider something in models to come.

So...

  1. Go Here: Feedback - Apple TV - Apple
  2. Select: "Request a feature or enhancement" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Comment On: How the remote could be made more user-freindly.
  4. Proceed from these as necessary.
