App passwords (Not Where help article says)

Where are my App passwords saved? (IPad current version)

My bank app uses Face ID but I’d like to look at the password to log in on the web. The article says it would be under “Passwords & Accounts” in Settings. That does not exist, only “Passwords”. There are no app passwords there, only website ones.

Hi XanaduTwo,

We see you're looking to find your stored passwords on your iPad. We can understand the need to find that if you've forgotten a particular one. We'd be happy to help out.

The location you've noted (Settings > Passwords) is where they'll be stored. It may appear as though they're all websites, however most apps will use that particular info. For example, the Apple Store app in the list may show as 'apple.com', but this info is what will be used in the Apple Store app. You can check which app in the list is associated with a particular app by checking the icon next to it.

Info on that will be at the bottom here: Automatically fill in strong passwords on iPad

Take care.

This does not help fully. I have an app (Aeries Portal) that my iphone has saved my password for. It logs me in with FaceID just fine but the app does not show up in the alphabetical list of apps in the passwords section you referenced (under A or P). See images attached. I want to sign on with a desktop computer but even my own device doesn't trust me when it obviously has the data somewhere. This has been true about several other apps as well. It is very frustrating.
