My phone locked while using Facetime and effects. Is there a fix for this?

While using Facetime the person I was speaking with discovered the Effects button, while we were both playing with it, our phone locked and we couldn't hang up, close the app or turn off our phones. I finally figured out that deleting the Facetime app would disconnect our call. Is there another way to shut this down?

Hi Idaho_Born,

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with a frozen iPhone.

Resolving this issue may require a force restart and a FaceTime call would be disconnected. Please see: If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen.

For an iPhone 11 you'd need to "Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo."

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you'd need to use a computer as described in the rest of the article.

Have a fantastic day!
