How can I get compensation?

Hi,

I have almost spent 5 hours this week on the phone to Apple Support about my Mac Book pro that had recently been repaired and has since the repair begun to crash constantly and then would not turn on at all.

I have wasted so much time and then I finally get through to a senior advisor who set up a repair for me. However, she did not tell me that the Mac would be picked up in 2 weeks! This is unacceptable under the current climate as I am working from home and cannot work without my laptop as I am in my final year of my degree doing my research project. I have finally reached someone else on the phone who has organised a mail-in repair, however, I am still without a laptop!

My device is only 2 and a half years old and is still under Apple Care.

I have had to resort to purchasing a new Mac in the meantime as I have wasted too much time already and am under great pressure studying for my degree. I would like you to take into account how outrageous this is as it should be a quality product and should have been repaired in the first place.

I expect compensation or a refund for this, as this is the most unacceptable situation I find myself in with a company that claims to have great products and customer service.

please advise on what I can do.

LOL, If you are so dependent on your computer then you must have a contingency plan for interruptions due to hardware/software issues.

You can contact Apple and ask for compensation: Contact - How to Contact Us - Apple

‘Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I am trying to work online as we are in lockdown. I live on my own in a student flat as no one else has returned to the Uni. I’m studying Biomed in the hope to become a researcher and working part time for the NHS. Normally my project would be in the lab but because of lockdown it is not. Normally I would have access to Uni computers but because of lockdown I do not. My project software does not work on a tablet which I own as a cheap temporary contingency plan. Am trying to get another device however the shops are shut. This one was supposed to have already been fixed and was not and now getting no help from Apple or Uni. What do you expect me to do? Are you going to give me the money to save my degree? I don’t think so. I think your comments are harmful. Any other helpful ideas gratefully received.
