My MacBook (bought in USA 2015) cannot update software (Big Sur) in Berlin. How do I log into another user to change its location if I am the only user?

Did you move your home folder? That is what the error message is telling you.

If you didn't move your home folder (or even if you did), just create a new user, give it admin capability, and log into that to update.
