Chrome keeps crashing on M1 macbook pro

Not only is Chrome crashing for me too, but I have a problem with images not showing up on almost every website. See my Chrome screenshot where nothing shows up. I have the same Big Sur version and Chrome build (but x86_64) on my older MBP and there are no issues. This is related somehow to the M1. Apple, please help. Frustrating to 'upgrade' your machine and not be able to use Chrome at all.

Yep, seeing this daily too. The worst thing is that it (Chrome) does not appear to be leaving any crash reports, or if it is, it's sending those directly to Google somehow and bypassing the Mac crash catcher. The only diagnostics I can see are:

Which is probably more of a diagnostic than a fatal error.

You can use Session Buddy for Chrome to ensure working tabs are not lost due to the bug, but it's so inconvenient!

Thanks to that bug, i had the chance to switch to firefox with Tree Style Tab plugin and it's much better now! :)

Crashing for me too. Not only Chrome, even Safari crashes!

Been so many days since this is happening, and it's frustrating, when I'm working on something important and everything is lost!!

Mac OS: BigSur.

MacBook Pro 2015.

This is the issue we have as well. We also have an issue where you go into the address bar and you can't see what you are typing because is gets covered in black. It's almost like there is a rendering issue.

Is it on the Chrome or iOS side?

Is anyone from Apple looking into this?

Picked up my new work laptop, yesterday. Glitchy as anything. Multiple crashes, multiple restart loops. Virtually unusable.

MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020), Big Sur 11.2.3 (20D91), Chrome Version 90.0.4430.85 (Official Build) (arm64)

May 25th, Macbook pro 13inch 16gb RAM, I have the Chrome M1 version downloaded, and every week since I started using this mac keeps on getting worse. Can barely work for more than 30 minutos without a tab or chrome itself crushing

yeah, you can upgrade OS version as they fix some, but there are still lots of other issues like when you use sidecar and share your screens with other devices, airpod pro could not work probably & you cant listen to music probably.

It could be memory or cpu issue (m1, 16gb)

Hope not so issues will not keep popping up :|

June 2021 and it's still a crap show. Chrome for me will just freeze up.... but it also freezes up my entire Mac with it making the whole system unstable. Quitting chrome makes everything run like a champ. I at first thought I should have gone for the next model up with more ram, but I can run games, tons of apps, and not a hitch.... open up a few chrome tabs and I feel like I'm using a Core 2 chipset from ages gone by.

I use Edge for work and have NONE of these issues or with Safari which both run Chromium engines. How the **** does Google manage this? I wish I could ditch Chrome but there are just some things the G machine does so much better than others.

Daily crashing here as well. Chromium as I've noticed Edge has been crashing too.

A temporary fix i found was turning hardware acceleration off. It will make chrome a bit slower but at least you can have text.

M1 mac mini running chrome is crashing browser too often for comfort. Have switched to Firefox which is stable and surprisingly good!

FWIW, Safari does not run Chromium.

None the less, Chrome 91.0.4472.77 (arm64) does not crash on my M1 MacBook Air running Big Sur.
