MacBook Pro screen suddenly showing blue and pink flickering lines

Its a MacBook Pro (13-inch 2017) and I’ve had it for just over 2 years. About a year and a half ago there was damage to underneath the screen where the logo is (literally no clue how this happened) but it’s worked completely fine and not impacted the laptop or the screen at all. Got the battery replaced in September because it wouldn’t charge and they said I’d have to pay extra to fix that crack but it shouldn’t cause any problems if it hasn’t already. Now skip to 4 month later (the night before an exam too), I was making notes on the laptop and briefly closed the lid for about 20 seconds, opened it back up and it was full of glitchy lines.I restarted it, did an nvram reset, tried powering it on in safety mode and it didn’t change anything. Considered it could be the graphics card maybe or something to do with the new update (BigSur 1.1) but if the lid is at just the right angle, and it’s really really hard to get it there to the point it’s pure luck, the lines go away and there’s a barely noticeable flicker to the screen. Logic goes towards this being the bottom of the screen, but it’s been completely fine for a year and a half, so I’m a bit stuck on how it happened. Does anyone know what would have to be repaired, like the lid or the screen, or what it could be?
