Password - or Passcode?
You can disable the Passcode if you really wish to do so, but you need to be aware that many other security elements will be disabled if you do so - such as TouchID (if equipped) and Safari Autofill functions (such as your website Passwords):
Settings > [TouchID &] Passcode > Turn Passcode Off
As an alternative to completely disabling your iPad Passcode, you might instead consider changing the Require Passcode setting to a longer period:
Settings > [TouchID &] Passcode > Require Passcode - selecting a different time period
Available choices range from Immediately, 1 minute to 4 hours.
