iPhone 12 mini Bluetooth Connectivity Issue

I have recently purchased iPhone 12 mini and restore the contents from my old iPhone 7 backup, post that i'm not able to connect to my Sony external 2.1 speakers through Bluetooth. Upon checking further with Apple Support, they have suggested to factory reset the iPhone 12 mini and try to check the connectivity again, post that also i'm facing the same issue again.

Below are the observation, if any of them faced the same issue, pls help on the same.

iPhone 12 mini(Bluetooth 5.0) with ios 14.3 - Bluetooth Connectivity to Sony external speaker not working

iPhone 12 mini(Bluetooth 5.0) with ios 14.4(beta version) - Bluetooth Connectivity to Sony external speaker not working

iPhone 11(Bluetooth 5.0) with ios 14.4(beta version) - Bluetooth Connectivity to Sony external speaker working

iPhone 7(Bluetooth 4.2) with ios 14.3 - Bluetooth Connectivity to Sony external speaker working

iPad mini 4(Bluetooth 4.2) with ios 14.3 - Bluetooth Connectivity to Sony external speaker working

Upon checking further, there is modem firmware difference between 12 mini vs 11. 12 mini is having 1.42.x whereas 11 is on 2.x

We understand you're unable to connect your iPhone 12 to your Tiny speaker. Are you able to connect any Bluetooth device to your iPhone? If not, check out the steps outlined here to help address this behavior: If you can't connect a Bluetooth accessory to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you're only experiencing this behavior with your Sony speaker, you may consider contacting Sony directly to help determine if there are any firmware updates available for your speaker.

Are you able to connect any Bluetooth device with your iPhone 12?

When you attempt to connect your speaker with your iPhone 12, is the speaker currently connected via Bluetooth to any other devices?

Have you had a chance to contact Sony to help determine if there are any updates available for your speaker?

Hi barbelives123, the external speaker is not connected to any of the devices while trying to connect from iPhone 12 mini.

Since i don't have any one around who's having iPhone 12, not able to check the connectivity from iPhone 12 series.

Already contacted with Sony on this case, they have confirmed that the device is on latest firmware and it can connect from any of the Bluetooth version 2.1 + EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and Bluetooth Profile A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile)

The main concern is this particular iPhone 12 mini is not getting connected to this Sony speaker. It shows the devices while listing, but while trying to establish connection, it's failing with Connection Unsuccessful

Note - I can able to connect the same speaker from iPhone 7, iPad mini4, iPhone 11,OnePlus 5T and other Android devices without any issues

Hi Chuck, Thanks for the reply.. yes I’m not able to connect to Sony external speakers from iPhone 12 mini, where as the same device is getting connected from iPhone 11
