Do Not Disturb does not silence WhatsApp messages

Do Not Disturb silences all my notifications when I am in calls so that I don't get distracted. But when I get a WhatsApp message, even with DND on, it still rings. How can I found out if I put WhatsApp on some kind of white list?

Unable to receive WhatsApp messages Hello All, I have noticed that we are not notified about the new messages while the WhatsApp is running in background. We have to open the app to check for the messages. Also, same with WhatsApp audio/video call. It doesn’t ring !! This is happening since iOS 14 upgrade. Apple please fix this. Thanks in advance !!
