How do you forward text messages on an iPhone 7 running iOS 14.3 to an Android phone?

I have a work assigned iPhone 7 that I am trying to forward text messages to my personal Android phone in order to only need to carry one phone around. Both phones are on Verizon network so setting up call forwarding was a breeze. Text message forwarding, not so much. Is there any way to accomplish this task?

Researching the issues I came across many posts relating to using 3rd party sms forwarding apps, but the latest Apple OS updates have removed this capability for apps to access sms messages. The OS built-in text forwarding feature only works between OS devices, making it useless for me. The only 3rd party apps that still work only let you forward messages to an iPhone not the other way around.
