No edit drop down//control surfaces

I have recently purchased and Arturia Keylab Essentials 49.

I have it working as a keyboard as it is basically plug and play. However, when I try to set it up as a control surface, it tells me the controller cannot be scanned and must be added manually. In addition, it reports I will then have to adjust all the settings.

Normally this would be done from the edit drop down, however, this does not exist for some reason, I only have the "New" drop down.

I have browsed through some vids on YouTube but none of them show what to do when this menu is not present.
