iCloud Backup Issue - taking over 12 hours

I got a new phone and have been trying to back up my phone since 7 pm last night and it is now 12pm the next day. I left my phone backing up overnight so from 7 pm to 9 am and it was still only half way saying 13 hours to go. Which was strange because before I fell asleep it said only 4 hours.

I decided to stop the back up, delete over half my apps and deleted my old back up, and transferred ALL my photos to Google Photos. I also upgraded my iCloud space from 200 GB to 2TB. From 9:30 am to 12pm it is STILL backing up and the hours keeping going out. I am ready to throw this phone haha. PLEASE HELP!!!! Note: the auto backup was always on so I only manually clicked it because Apple instructions told me too. Currently at 167 GB of data on phone.

I need to send my phone back to Apple because I got a replacement and I only have a few days to get it back before I am charged $1300 for the new phone. Thank you!

Hello ClaudiaJimenez,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities, and congratulations on your new iPhone. We understand that backing up your iPhone to iCloud is taking longer than expected, and we'd be happy to look into this with you.

The process of backing up to iCloud can take a variable amount of time based on several factors. The time to complete a backup can depend on the overall size of the backup and the speed of the network on which you’re connected to. To get the best performance, you’ll want to make sure that your iPhone is connected to a charger and connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network.
