I got the new MacBook Pro 2020 and only closed it once with a keyboard cover on it and than read they are bad it was only closed for about 20 min would that hurt it.

The tolerances between the keyboard and the inside of the display are so tight that even having a very thin membrane or even a sheet of paper between the keyboard and the display may cause damage, especially if used for an extended period of time.


As was mentioned, if you see nothing wrong with it as it is, you're likely fine. Just keep the keyboard cover off since it will likely do more harm than good.
