HDMI to DVI issues Mac Mini M1

Dear all,

the official specifications of the Apple Mac Mini specify: i quote:

“HDMI 2.0 display video output:

Support for one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz.

DVI output using HDMI to DVI Adapter (sold separately)”

When I connect my A1082 23” Apple Cinema Display with a separately sold HDMI to DVI adapter, i have terrible image quality, closed windows ‘ghosting’ after closing, and even persisting after full reboot. The display does none of that connected to my MBP 2011, so its not the display.

let me be clear: I know Apple’s and the community’s easy answer is “buy a USB-C to dvi adapter” but that doesn’t cut it: Apple promises in the specs that this should work and it doesn’t.

Have a look at this:

Apple, is this a Big Sur bug, is this a hardware issue? When will it be fixed?

thanks.

Mac mini 2018 or later
