iOS 14 Really Loud Alert Notifications When Using Phone

When I’m using my phone (iPhone X Max), the alert notification sounds play on full volume loudness. For example, while I’m typing this, I got an email inbox notification and also a text message notification alert and they are blaring loud. Full volume loud. My ringer and alerts volume is set to 0 too! I tried to turn on Change With Buttons setting but that didn’t work either. Any idea how to fix this bug? I am running the latest update 14.3.

It sounds like notifications are louder than expected on your iPhone.

You can try some isolation and troubleshooting steps. Here are some resources that may help:

If this is happening to a particular app's notification, toggle the notification sound off and on, try a different notification sound if possible. Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If this is happening to notifications from multiple you can try turning off "Change with Buttons" to see if it happens here, then turn it back on and see if toggling the feature helped. Adjust the volume on iPhone.

Try to Restart your iPhone as that can sometimes resolve issues as well.
